Khanqah-e-Chaqchan is situated in the famous city of Khaplu, nearly 100 km away from the city of Skardu. In Baltistan, Islam was spread by the efforts of Sufi saint Hazrat Ameer Kabir Hamdani (ra). He visited Khaplu nearly 700 years ago and converted Buddhist people into Islam thus he made these Khanqah's. Chaqchan is one of the biggest place of worship for the Muslims in the area. It is a three-story building with amazing wooden work by Kashmiri architects.
